Keep cool at the Mountlake Terrace Recreation Pavilion and Library


MLtnews logoDue to high temperatures predicted this weekend, the Mountlake Terrace Library, located at 23300 58th Avenue West, is offering people a place to stay cool during the heat of the day. The library is open Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays 1 to 5 p.m.  For more information, please call the library at 425-776-8722.

The Mountlake Terrace Recreation Pavilion offers indoor swimming. Hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, 6 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. Fridays, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays, and 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays. Rates are $4.25 for youth and seniors, and $5.25 for adults. Resident discounts are available. Please check the swim schedule for details at or call 425-776-9173 for more information.

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch in effect from Fridayafternoon until late Saturday night. Residents are encouraged to take precautions and check on relatives and neighbors. It is important to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Never leave children or pets in a vehicle, even with the windows rolled down.
