The ducks are back!
The Mountlake Terrace Recreation Pavilion have hunted down a new flock of its popular floating ducks and have them available for purchase during its regular operating hours.
Sales of the ducks, priced at $1.10 each, help pay for children from low-income households to attend city recreation programs. “While it may seem somewhat insignificant, this is a large revenue source for the scholarship programs at the Pavilion,” said Interim City Manager Scott Hugill.
The new duck designs for Halloween, Thanksgiving and the upcoming winter season are proving quite popular. More than 230 ducks were sold in September, up from 97 sold in July and August combined, city officials said.
