
Leda Marie Massie joined God peacefully in her sleep, at Bethany Nursing Home in Everett on April 6, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband Eduoard and her daughter Madeleine Ramey. She is survived by her sons Charles-Eduoard (Cheri) Massie and L. Andre Massie, grandchildren Jacques, Christopher, and Justin Massie; Andrea, Roy, Karen and Richard Massie, and Nichole, Jordan and Joel Ramey; as well as loving great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews throughout Canada and the Western states.
Leda Marie Vaugeois came into this world on Dec. 23, 1915 in Beaumont, Alberta, the youngest of 14 siblings. She received her education in legal and married Eduoard Massie on October 24, 1938. After several moves, the family settled in Mountlake Terrace, where Eduoard worked in the construction industry and Leda used her many talents as a department head at J.C. Penney.
Leda was known for her superlative love of life, her sharp sense of humor, her brilliant mind and her many artistic talents as a seamstress, ceramic and porcelain artist. Whenever possible, Leda used walking as a way to sort out problems and passed on that cure to her children.
Leda’s funeral Mass was held on April 11, 2012 at St. Pius Catholic Church in Mountlake Terrace. Following Mass, a celebration of Leda’s life was hosted by the wonderful ladies of St. Pius Guilds. Interment was at Holy Rood Cemetery.
