Here’s how you can help MTHS assault victim

Administrators at Mountlake Terrace High School are being inundated with calls from students and families about how they can show support for the 16-year-old MTHS junior assaulted and robbed on campus last week. The school is asking for well-wishers to contact Ashley Johnson, the MTHS Student and Family Advocate, for direction on what they can do or where they can send cards of support. Johnson can be reached at 425-431-5725.

The student victim was knocked unconscious, suffered a broken jaw, lost teeth and sustained numerous facial cuts and contusions during an assault in a MTHS bathroom on Dec. 4. A fellow student, 18-year-old Darian Tyler Sharpe, was arrested and charged with assault and robbery soon after the attack. Sharpe was released on bail and is awaiting his next court date on first-degree robbery and second-degree assault charges.
