Here are the most dangerous intersections in Mountlake Terrace

Which are the most dangerous intersections in Mountlake Terrace? The 2011 Mountlake Terrace Police Department Report gives us a clue.

Three intersections in the city led all others with nine vehicle collisions each during 2011. They are 66th Avenue West and 220th Street Southwest, 64th Avenue W and 220th Street Southwest, and 44th Avenue West and 228th Avenue Southwest. The two intersections on 220th Avenue West are close to Mountlake Terrace’s biggest employer, Premera Blue Cross; the intersection of 44th Avenue West and 228th Street Southwest  is a heavily-traveled route by commuters driving to I-5 from Brier and communities to the east.

The intersection of 70th Avenue West and 220th Street Southwest, which leads directly into the Premera Blue Cross campus, saw seven vehicle collisions in 2011.

The 2011 MLT Police Department Report was shared by Police Chief Greg Wilson and members of his department at the Thursday, March 29 City Council Work/Study Session.

  1. I am surprised that the intersection of 216th St Sw and 48th Ave W doesn’t rate on this list. I can only presume that the low speed accidents aren’t being reported to police (just insurance).
