Help Find the Missing Christmas Cow

Sometime Sunday night, a Christmas cow was stolen from Russ’ yard around 226th and 48th.

Now you might ask, “What, exactly, is a Christmas cow?”

Well, let me tell you.

To some, a Christmas cow may just be a lawn ornament. But to Russ and his neighborhood, the herd of five Christmas cows is an annual tradition. The herd wanders around Russ’ yard during the nights prior to and after Christmas. Over the years, the cows have recieved fan letters, had their pictures taken with neighborhood children and recieved anonymous gifts, such as cow bells, from the neighbors. Apparently the cow that was taken was being foolishly brave and wondered too close to the sidewalk.

If you know of the cow’s whereabouts, Russ’ directions are very clear:

  • If you stole it, please return the cow. No questions asked.
  • If you know who stole it, please persuade them to return it.
  • If they won’t return it, call the Mountlake Terrace Police Department and reference case #10-0094.

Keep your eyes open and let’s help Russ return the missing Christmas cow to the herd.

  1. I know personally the man who took this cow. As far as I know, he felt bad immediately afterward and returned it, so the cow should now be back with it's brethren.
