Hazel Miller Foundation grant to fund extra tutoring at Mountlake Terrace HS

The Hazel Miller Foundation of Edmonds has granted $68,150 to the Edmonds School District to pay for additional after-school tutoring and academic coaching at all the district’s high schools, including Mountlake Terrace High School.

Mountlake Terrace will now have two certified staff stay after school an hour, three days a week, in the library to help support students with their studies. The funding will also pay for an Academic Coach to follow 15-20 freshmen students through their senior year, assisting the students meet their graduation requirements. The students will be selected among those falling within the largest achievement gaps in the school.
