The Mountlake Terrace High School baseball team continued their hot hitting in the second game of the postseason, beating Wesco 3A regular season champs Meadowdale 8-5 on Tuesday. The Hawks will face Mount Vernon on Saturday, May 12, at Everett Memorial Stadium for the district tournament title.
Meadowdale had won 11 games in a row before Tuesday’s lost, giving up just over three runs per game during the streak. The Hawks have scored 16 runs in their past ten innings.
Mountlake Terrace may be facing their biggest test yet as they will take on an undefeated Mount Vernon squad that is currently ranked second in the 3A state rankings.
Saturday’s title game is set for 2 p.m.; admission is $6 for adults and students without an ASB card, $4 for students with an ASB card, and $4 for children and seniors.
