Catcher Austin Johnson had a double and a triple to lead the Hawks to their third 3A District 1 championship in five years with a 6-3 victory over previously undefeated Mount Vernon Saturday afternoon.
The win gave Mountlake Terrace a berth in the state baseball tournament; they will play next at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 19 at Skagit Valley College against a yet-to-be-determined opponent.
