Using the long ball, the Mountlake Terrace High School softball team pounded the visiting Stanwood Spartans on Tuesday, 14-0, in a game shortened to five innings due to the mercy rule.

Three Hawks cleared the fences in the game: Hannah Wilcox ripped a three-run homer in the third inning, then in the next inning Hannah Baisch connected with a two-run shot and Maddy Kristjanson hit a grand slam home run.

Kristjanson leads the team in round-trippers with seven for the season, with Wilcox close behind with five for the year.

Kira Doan had her best pitching out of the season as the freshman gave up just three hits, walked one, and struck out nine in five innings.
In other MTHS action on Tuesday, the Terrace baseball team snuck by Meadowdale 3-2, while the girls tennis squad fell to the Mavericks 4-3.
