With just two weeks remaining in the regular season, the Meadowdale Mavericks picked up an important volleyball victory at the expense of the Mountlake Terrace Hawks on Tuesday.

The Mavericks shutout the Hawks 3-0 (25-13, 25-23, 25-11) in a Wesco League matchup played at Meadowdale High School.

The Mavs are currently holding on to the No. 10 spot in the latest District 1 3A volleyball RPI rankings – the top 10 in the rankings qualify for the District 1 3A tournament that begins on Nov. 7.

Despite the loss, Terrace is still clinging to a potential spot in the District 1/2 2A Volleyball Tournament that begins Nov. 5; the Hawks are No. 11 in the district’s 2A volleyball RPI rankings, good enough to qualify the squad for the 12-team tourney.

In other Mountlake Terrace sports results from Tuesday, the Hawks’ girls soccer team played to a 0-0 double-overtime draw with the Mavs in a Wesco League match played at Lynnwood High School. 

At the Terrace girls swim team lost to the Kamiak Knights 103-80 in a dual meet held at Kamiak High School.
