The Mountlake Terrace Hawks boys soccer team grabbed their first win of the 2016 season with a 2-0 shutout of the visiting Everett Seagulls Friday night at Edmonds Stadium. Freshman Ben Forder scored both Terrace goals in the victory.

In other sports’ results on Friday, Lynnwood Royals’ Brice Foster went 4-for-5, including a game-winning RBI in the bottom of the ninth inning, to lead the Royals to a 3-2 victory over the Mountlake Terrace. With the win, Lynnwood completed a three-game sweep of the Hawks over the past week.

In softball, the Hawks suffered another defeat, a 20-4 crushing by the Meadowdale Mavericks in a game shortened to five innings due to the mercy rule. The Mavericks were led by Kaitllyn Webster and Julia Reuble, each going 5-for-5 at the plate; Webster picked up four RBI’s and scored four runs while Reuble brought in three RBI’s and scored three times for Meadowdale.
