The Stanwood Spartans used a big six-run fourth inning to thump the Mountlake Terrace Hawks 7-1 in a non-conference Wesco League baseball game on Wednesday at Stanwood High School.
Despite recording seven strikeouts in four innings pitched, Terrace’s Dominic Demiero was saddled with the loss. Tyler Givens picked up the win for Stanwood as the only Hawk run in the game was scored unearned.
In other Terrace sports action on Wednesday, the boys soccer team evened their record at 1-1-0 by defeating the Monroe Bearcats 3-1 at Edmonds Stadium. Hawk Alec Somers scored twice in the match.
