Hawks sports roundup: Baseball beats Ferndale, tennis loses to Shorecrest

The Mountlake Terrace High School boys baseball team began its postseason with an 8-2 victory over Ferndale Monday; the Hawks next must face a hot Meadowdale team Tuesday at 4 p.m., on the road.

With a win over the Meadowdale, the Hawks would land a spot in the District championship game Saturday afternoon at Everett Memorial Stadium. If the Hawks lose to Meadowdale, they would play on Wednesday against either Glacier Peak or Shorecrest in a loser-out contest.

In other MTHS sports action, the girls tennis team lost to Shorecrest on Monday 5-2. The girls finished their regular season with a record of 8-8.

The 3A Sub District girls tennis tournament will run this week Tuesday-Thursday at Jackson High School in Mill Creek. Results from the sub-district tourney will seed those who qualify for the district tournament starting on May 15.
