Thanks primarily to three errors by Edmonds-Woodway, the Mountlake Terrace Hawks scored four runs in the top of the second inning, added one more in the third, and then held on for a 5-3 victory over the Warriors on Tuesday.
Hawk pitching gave up only five hits to the Warriors in the game. Sophomore Ben Reijonen picked up the win on the mound for Terrace, with senior Connor Clausen getting the save.
Weather permitting, the Hawks (2-1) will take on the Stanwood Spartans Wednesday at 4 p.m. in a home game to be broadcast on the Hawks Live Sports Network on MLTnews.com.
In other MTHS sports results from Tuesday, the boys soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with the Monroe Bearcats in Monroe. The Hawks (1-0-1) will match up with Meadowdale on Friday at Edmonds Stadium; first kick is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The Mountlake Terrace girls golf team found the Whidbey Golf and Country Club course, and the chilly conditions, challenging at the Whidbey Shootout on Tuesday, finishing 11th in the 15-team field. The Hawks hosts Marysville-Gretchell and Shorecrest at the Nile Golf Course on Thursday, March 28, in their next action.
