The Mountlake Terrace girls tennis team fell to a very strong Stanwood squad 5-2 on Thursday at Mountlake Terrace High School. The loss drops the Hawks’ record to 2-4 in league matches, 3-6 overall. The Stanwood Spartans retain a big lead in the 3A Wesco North division with a record of 5-1 in the league, 8-1 overall.

The Hawks face their fourth match-up of the week on Friday as they travel to Everett to face the Seagulls at Clark Park beginning at 3:30 p.m.

In other Terrace sports action on Thursday, the struggles of the boys golf team continued as they finished well behind other squads at Cedarcrest Golf Course in Marysville. The golf team competes next at Legion Golf Course in Everett on Thursday, Apr. 18 versus Everett, Meadowdale, Oak Harbor and Shorecrest.
