Terrace and Meadowdale both stand at 5-1 in league play, 8-3 overall with just three matches left in Wesco play this year.

The two teams played an intense, back-and-forth match before an enthusiastic crowd Thursday, trading the first four sets; then down 11-10 in the deciding fifth set, the Hawks struck for five straight points and grabbed the victory.

It was the biggest win of the year for a Terrace squad that had been squashed by Meadowdale 3-0 earlier in the season.

In girls soccer action on Thursday, it was the Mavericks who were able to avenge an earlier lost to Terrace this year as Meadowdale slipped past the Hawks 1-0 at Lynnwood High School.

Taylor Monroe-Jones scored off a corner kick in the 65th minute for the Mavericks in the match’s only goal.
