Hawks Softball Recap

Terrace got in three games last week but failed to get in a game with Kamiak for the fifth time on Thursday. Monday, after coming back from spring break, Terrace traveled to Glacier peak where they struggled to get hits, managing only 3 during the 5 inning game that was shortened due to the mercy rule, with a final of 12-2. The Grizzlies scored 4 in the first and at least 1 in every other inning. Rene Bos got the loss while Mindy James and Maddy Kristjanson both went 1-3.

Tuesday the Hawks made the trek to Oak Harbor in the second of 3 league games for the week. The game started with pitcher Rene Bos giving up a 2 run home run but from there she settled down and didn’t give up anymore from that point on. Terrace got back in the game and finally took the lead for good late in the game for a 9-2 win. Maddy Kristjanson went 3-4, 3B, and Mindy James went 4-5, 2B.

Wednesday saw Terrace hosting cross town rival Lynnwood. The Hawks scored 9 runs in the 3rd inning led by a home run by winning pitcher Rene Bos who also had 2 doubles on the day, going 4-4. Terrace finished the game in 6 innings with the 10 run rule, 15-5. Mindy James 3-5, 2RBI, Maddy Kristjanson 3-4, RBI, Hannah Baisch 2-4, 2B, 4RBI, Jesse Printz 3-4, 2RBI, Melynda Ward 2-4, 2B.

Terrace hosts undefeated and 6th ranked Meadowdale on Tuesday at 4pm, and will make it’s 6th attempt to play Kamiak at Terrace on Thursday, 4pm. The Hawks currently sit in 3rd place in Wesco 3A at 4-2, 7-3 overall.
