Hawks play 3-way tie-breaker Saturday

The Hawks 43-13 win over the Lynnwood on Thursday kept Terrace in the running for a playoff birth. On Saturday we’ll find out if the team can make it to the post-season for the second year in a row.

Everett, Mountlake Terrace and Shorecrest each ended the regular season with a 4-3 record in league play. Glacier Peak (6-0) and Meadowdale (5-2) have clinched the 1st two playoff positions from the league and the second two positions will decided in a Kansas City style tie-breaker between the three remaining teams.

The Seattle Times has more:

The playoff will be a series of Kansas City tie-breaker games. Everett will face Mountlake Terrace in the first contest, with the winner to face Shorecrest for the No. 3 seed to the district playoff round.

The third game to determine the No. 4 seed will follow, but only if the teams have yet to play. Therefore, if Shorecrest beats whichever team survives Game 1, the loser of Game 2 will automatically be the fourth seed since that team already will have beaten the loser of Game 1.

Meadowdale, with its win Thursday, is the No. 2 seed and will host the SPSL No. 2 team – the loser of Friday’s Lakes at Bonney Lake contest.

The overtime style tie-breaker will begin at 5 pm at Shoreline Stadium. For admission, adults, students without ASB cards, seniors and children will pay $2.  High school students with ASB cards enter for free.
