Hawks pick up first win 51-42

Terrace took on Shorewood in a Wesco 3A match up at the Terraceum on Friday night. Looking for their first win of the season, the Lady Hawks came out hungry taking a lead at halftime by 3 points. Terrace took advantage of a very aggressive Thunderbird defense that put the Hawks at the line often. Terrace went to the line 27 times, converting on 18 of those. After just three points in the first half Mindy James carried Terrace on her back in the second half, finishing 10-12 from the line and 19 points. Takara Mitsui also had 13 points, going 7-8 from the line. Shorewood led after three quarters, but the Terrace defense stopped the Tbirds short. Mary Boxley controlled the boards pulling down 13 rebounds and blocking 4 shots. Terrace outrebounded Shorewood 39-18. The Hawks picked up their first win of the season 51-42.

Terrace plays at Everett on Wednesday and at Glacier Peak on Friday, both games start @ 7:30pm.
