The debut of Mountlake Terrace High School’s new girls soccer coach, Evan Hatch, was a successful one Thursday night as the team picked up a victory over the visiting Stanwood Spartans 2-1 at Lynnwood High School.
After Stanwood took a 1-0 lead on a goal in the 14th minute, Terrace struck for two in less than two minutes halfway through the second half. Junior Lily Hart scored off an assist from junior Allison Lorraine in the 57th minute, then junior Riley Zucker scored unassisted in the 58th minute.
The Hawks play their only day match of the season on Saturday, Sept. 14 — a 3 p.m. kickoff against West Seattle; the match will take place at Edmonds Stadium.
