Hawks fall to Mavs 16-7

The Mountlake Terrace Hawks football team lost to the Meadowdale Mavericks Friday night 16-7. The Hawkeye has more:

The Meadowdale Mavericks knocked off the Mountlake Terrace Hawks 16-7 in a hard-fought Wesco 3A battle on Friday night.

In a closely contested game, the Mavericks (3-1, 2-0 Wesco 3A) were able to pull away with kicker Brian Marty’s three field goals of 30, 30 and 34 yards.  The Mavs were also aided by their power running game led by Kyle Gage and Michael Dever.  Dever had a 4-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter, putting the Mavericks up 7-0.

The Hawks (2-2, 1-2 Wesco 3A) were unable to move the ball down the field effectively on the offensive side of the ball, with the exception of their first drive of the second half.
