An outstanding performance by Glacier Peak’s starting pitcher Tanner Braun, plus a defensive meltdown by the Hawks in the fifth inning, added up to an 8-1 loss for the Mountlake Terrace High School baseball team on Friday.

Braun pitched a complete game for the Grizzlies, giving up just one run on four hits. The Glacier Peak starter struck out 10 Hawks, not walking a batter. And at the plate Braun went two-for-two, including a solo home run.

The Grizzlies scored six runs in the fifth inning with the help of three Terrace errors.

With the win, Glacier Peak took the three-game series from Terrace two-games-to-one, and dropped the Hawks record to 2-3 in Wesco play, 4-4 overall. The Hawks have lost three of their last four and don’t play again until Wednesday, April 3, when they travel to Marysville-Pilchuck High School for a 4 p.m. match-up with the Tomahawks.
