Marysville-Pilchuck pounded out eleven hits off of Hawk pitching on route to a 12-5 victory over the Mountlake Terrace softball team on Thursday in Marysville. The Tomahawks scored seven runs in the first inning and never trailed in the 3A Wesco league game.
The Hawks committed three errors in the loss.
Terrace scored all five of their runs in the second inning. Junior Maddy Kristjanson led the Hawks’ offensive effort, going 3-4 with three RBIs and a triple. Kristjanson started the game on the mound and was saddled with the loss.
The Hawks (0-2) play their first home game of the season on Monday, March 18, vs. Edmonds-Woodway at Mountlake Terrace High School. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the Hawks Live Sports Network on MLTnews.com.
In other Hawk action, the girls tennis team had a match postponed for the third straight day due to wet weather making the courts unplayable. Terrace will try again on Friday as the team will travel up to Stanwood for a 3:30 pm. match-up with the Spartans.
