Senior cheer co-captain Bella Garcia has been selected as the final Mountlake Terrace Hawks’ Athlete of the Week for the fall sports season.

Garcia, a three-year member of the MTHS cheer squad, was picked for the honor by Hawks’ cheer Coach Jessica Ellersick.

“She’s a positive leader, always willing to push hard at practice and handles the pressure of competition season like a champ,” Ellersick said of Garcia.

“She also leads her team in stunting as our most experienced second base,” Ellersick continued. “Her knowledge and power guide others to excel with her. Bella is a rock star when it comes to bringing a routine alive; she’s confident and has fun engaging the crowd.”

“Talent is top of the line, but in addition to that Bella has taken on many important roles in other clubs, including ASB,” Ellersick added. “She’s a busy lady at school and home but carries herself with maturity and stays organized. She’s the ideal teammate. Thanks for all you do Bella!”

Garcia and her fellow Hawk cheer members begin their competitive cheer season in December.
