Led by a hat trick from junior Lily Hart, the Mountlake Terrace Hawks beat the Stanwood Spartans in a loser-out District 1, 3A girls soccer playoff game at Edmonds Stadium.
Senior Nikkie Fro was back on the field for the Hawks, which helped on defense as Terrace shut out the Spartans.
Hart’s first goal was made possible with help from sophomore Claire Zucker and freshman Maia Christianson, who made key passes. Once Hart got the ball, it was one-on-one with Stanwood’s goalkeeper.
Hart would score another goal before the half to make it 2-0 at halftime.
Toward the end of the second half, Riley Zucker and Christianson would make great passes down the line, helping Hart score again to earn the hat trick.
“It felt great to get a playoff win,” Head Coach Evan Hatch said.
The Hawks will play Shorewood, at 5 p.m. Thursday Nov. 7 in a loser-out match at Edmonds Stadium.
