A woman who allegedly stabbed a man Thursday afternoon in Lynnwood was arrested and is in custody at the Lynnwood Jail.

At about 3:15 p.m., a woman in her 40s, who was living in an apartment complex in the 6500 block of 208th St. SW., walked up to a man in his 50s, who worked at the apartment complex, and allegedly stabbed him in the back with a knife, according to Lynnwood Police.

Witnesses in the complex heard the commotion and were able to detain the suspect. One of the witnesses held the woman at gunpoint until police arrived.

The investigation thus far has revealed no relationship between the victim and suspect. At this time it appears that the attack was unprovoked. The victim was transported to the hospital with a serious injury and it is unknown if the injury is life-threatening.

Lynnwood Detectives are continuing the investigation. It  does not appear at this time that the suspect was under the influence of any drugs.

The suspect is in custody and currently being held at the Lynnwood Jail but will eventually be transported to the Snohomish County Jail where she will be booked for Attempted Murder.
