Two teenagers died and three were injured after a late Friday night car crash on Olympic View Drive near 180th Street. The injured teens were transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries

The vehicle, reportedly a high-performance sports car, had left the roadway, gone down an embankment and hit a tree. All those in the car were under the age of 18, police said.

According to Edmonds police, officers were notified around 11:30 p.m. Friday after passenger from the vehicle had waved down a passing motorist who called 911. The initial responding officer found the crash scene between 180th Street Southwest and Andover Street, police said. Speed appears to be the primary factor in the collision, which occurred at a hair-pin turn on Olympic View Drive.

“It’s a 20-mile-per-hour turn for a reason,” said John Quick, who lives above the accident scene.
