Operation Military Family (OMF)-Cares is extending an invitation to its 2015 Spring Challenge Fund Raising Event on April 30 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Edmonds Conference Center, 201 4th Ave. N. Admission is free but seating is limited.
Help OMF-Cares achieve its $50,000 Spring Challenge Goal to support the “After The Hug Campaign,” which assists in reducing veteran homelessness, strengthening the relationships of military families, and equipping the community to better support and assist its military veterans.
Those who attend will hear from from former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Jeff Kemp on “Facing the Blitz” — an insightful talk on navigating life’s challenges.
Kemp, who also played quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles, also played college football at Dartmouth College. In 1984, he led the Rams with 13 touchdowns passes and a trip to the playoffs. In 1986 as a back-up to the injured Joe Montana, he threw 11 touchdowns for the 49ers.
Kemp is the son of late former NFL quarterback and American politician Jack Kemp.
All proceeds go OMF Community Outreach, otherwise known as OMF-Cares. For event and ticket information, visit www.OMFCares.org.
