Detectives with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office have identified the woman who was allegedly shoved into an SUV on March 14.
The woman’s family told investigators they have had recent face-to-face contact with the possible kidnapping victim. Detectives are now working to interview her to find out what happened before she was shoved into a vehicle by an unidentified man.
Her name has not been released, and the possible male suspect has not yet been identified.
Two witnesses called 911 at 5:49 p.m. on March 14 to report the incident near the intersection of Larch Way and Poplar Way in the Alderwood Manor area. The witnesses both said that a blonde woman in her mid-teens to early 20s was walking eastbound along Larch Way when a blue Ford Explorer stopped alongside her.
Witnesses say the driver jumped out of the SUV, grabbed the woman and shoved her inside through a door on the driver’s side.
Investigators determined that less than 20 minutes before the incident was reported to police, the possible victim was at the Albertson’s in Mountlake Terrace, located at 4301 212th St. SW. They got a photo of her off of the grocery store’s surveillance system.
The incident is still under investigation as a possible kidnapping. No arrests have been made.
