Happening nearby: 68-year-old woman crashes motorcycle, suffers head injury

A 68-year-old woman suffered head injuries after crashing her motorcycle on northbound I-5 near I-405.

According to Washington State Patrol, the woman was heading northbound on I-5 in the H.O.V. lane when traffic slowed. She locked up the rear brakes while trying to slow down, which sent the motorcycle into the next lane over. She was ejected from the motorcycle. Washington State Patrol says speed was a factor in the crash.

The woman suffered a serious head injury and was transported to Harborview Medical Center. She was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Her 2005 Harley-Davidson was totaled.
