Hair salon first to sign on for Arbor Village business space

Arbor Heights, Oct. 31 004A former co-owner of Shear Madness, a hair salon in Brier, has become the first business owner to sign on to operate in the Arbor Village complex at 236th Street Southwest and 56th Avenue West in Mountlake Terrace.

Janna Ross will be opening Bellis Salon in one of the eight ground floor commercial spaces available at the new five-story mixed use building. “I’m excited to be coming to Mountlake Terrace,” Ross said. “This project has been in the works for most of this year. It is very exciting to finally have the lease signed and move forward with construction.”

Ross hopes to have the salon open in early January and plans on having five to seven other stylists working with her at the business.

Bellis Salon will be taking over Suite 200, the 1,250-square-foot space adjacent to the Arbor Village main entrance on 56th Avenue West. It is the only commercial space in the building to be leased at this point, some two-and-a-half months after the complex was opened for occupancy in mid-August. About 60 percent of the 123 residential units are rented as of now.

“The salon use will serve as an amenity for the building’s residential tenants and create synergy with future retail tenants that will in short time make this project a success,” said Blake Taylor, Commercial Leasing, Sales and Property Manager for Arbor Village.

Bellis Salon will be the second new hair salon in the Town Center District of Mountlake Terrace as MAIDA, formerly located in Lynnwood, opened recently in 750 square-feet of commercial space at 5505-234th St. S.W.,  No. 2.

  1. Glad to see one of the spots in that building filled. There will now be 3 salons in about a one block radius from 56th/235th. Hopefully there is enough demand in the area to support all 3.
