Starting October 1st there will be a new gym opening up in the former Retrofit location in Cedar Plaza. Fitness 19, a company with around 130 locations around the country, has purchased all of Retrofit’s equipment and plans on doing a significant remodel of the space before opening up October 1st.

Retrofit closed in March of 2009 due to financial struggles. They ultimately ended up filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

Fitness 19 differentiates itself from other fitness clubs by what they say is a revolutionary concept in the fitness club world: an extremely affordable, family-friendly facility that offers state-of-the-art cardio, strength and free weight equipment. One major part of the remodel will be the addition of a fully staffed kids space stocked with toys, games and a TV/DVD player.

Regular dues are $19.95 a month. If you have multiple members in your family dues get even cheaper: $9.95/month for the second person and only $5.95/mont for the third. Fitness 19 has 13 other locations in Washington state including Maple Valley, Bonney Lake and Yakima. Most of the Washington State locations are open Monday-Thursday 5am-10pm, Friday 5am – 9pm and Saturday-Sunday 8am – 6pm.
