The Mountlake Terrace Police Department assisted the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office with an incident Tuesday evening at the Lakeside Apartments.
Mountlake Terrace Units responded along with Lynnwood and Edmonds to assist the Sheriff’s Office with the containment. A county deputy was in a pursuit which ended up in the parking lot in front of the “J” building of the Lakeside Apartments. The suspect, who had a felony Department of Corrections warrant, had fled on foot and entered a unit in the “J” building.
A substantial amount of cash and narcotics were found stashed near a tree where the suspect had fled past. A deputy made contact with a female in J-202 who confirmed that the suspect was inside. She also stated that he had 3 firearms in the residence.
After about an hour of negotiating with the suspect, he eventually came outside and he was taken into custody by Snohomish County Sheriff.
We are following up with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office and will update this post if we receive more information.
UPDATE
Here are more details from the Snohomish County Sherff’s Office:
Yesterday afternoon some of our deputies were in the area on an investigation and spotted a man they knew to have a DOC warrant out for his arrest. The man put his hands up like he was surrendering, then he took off running. He ran around an apartment building (on St. Albion Way or nearby) and straight into his own apartment. After a short time he came out on his own and was arrested without incident. At first, we kept people from going near the apartment because he is known to possess firearms, but there were no problems with that. The suspect, 33, was booked into the county jail on his warrant.
