Group advocating single-payer health care to present at MLT Library Sunday

health-care-for-all-washington logoHealth Care for All-Washington (HCFA-WA), a political action group that advocates for a government-based health insurance system, will be hosting a presentation outlining its ideas for a single-payer health care on Sunday, March 2, 2-4 p.m. at the Mountlake Terrace Library.

The HCFA-WA says that the new federal Affordable Care Act — otherwise known as ObamaCare —does nothing to lower health care costs nor help those unable to afford insurance premiums and who don’t qualify for government subsidies. In response, the organization will present on Sunday a presentation entitled “Washington Health Security Trust: How to Get to State-based Universal Healthcare.” A question-and-answer session will follow the program.

Information on joining the organization will also be available at the meeting, and is also available on their website. Annual membership comes with a suggested donation of $35 per year.

The Mountlake Terrace Library is located at 23300-58th Ave. W.
