New Google Maps Imagery for MLT

One very attentive MLTnews reader noticed that Google Maps has new aerial imagery for Mountlake Terrace and the surrounding areas because of the 230th St construction in the imagery. According to Google Earth, the new imagery was taken on Friday May 14, 2010.

Here are a couple other observations while looking around at the new imagery:

  • the Red Onion has the umbrellas out on their deck so it must be a nice day after 11am
  • 230th St. construction appears to be when they had finished regrading but before they installed any curb/gutter
  • Old Civic Campus has been demolished
  • The restaurant parking lots are fairly empty so my best guess would be that the imagery was taken in the mid-afternoon.

Take a look for yourself below. Notice anything in particular?

  1. I find it hard to believe it was on a Friday. Looking at the Premera parking lot, I see that it’s almost empty. And the shadows on the buildings look like it’s mid-day. So I’m guessing this was done on a Saturday (the church parking lots are empty, and so are the Park and Ride parking lots).

    1. I just don't notice a difference. My neighbor still has all the same crap on his yard that he's had for the past year.
