House fire causes $12K worth of damages

At 10:15 a.m., Fire District 1 crews were dispatched to a fire in Mountlake Terrace in the 22500 block of 56th Ave. W. “A passerby saw smoke coming from the house and called 9-1-1,” said Leslie Hynes, Fire District 1 public information officer.

Smoke was coming from all windows of the single-story house when firefighters arrived. The house is for sale and was empty. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to one room, but there was heavy smoke damage throughout the house. Damage is estimated at $12,000. No one was injured.

According to Redfin, the house, which was listed for $150,000, has a pending sale. If you’re the buyer, you may want to negotiate the price.
