The Mountlake Terrace Arts Advisory Commission presents the Gail Yampol Exhibit. The exhibit features photographs by local artist Gail Yampol who shares impressions from her world travels in a rich portfolio showcasing other cultures, environments, wildlife and natural settings.
Photography became a passion for Yampol when she was a young child spending time with her father, who loved to take photographs as a hobby. Her photographs have been featured in local shows, such as the Arts of the Terrace Juried Art Show, Edmonds Arts Festival and more.
Yampol, while teaching elementary education in Germany, was encouraged by her experiences abroad to become a world traveler. She enjoyed sharing her photography experiences with her students. After moving to Edmonds and teaching for the school district, she joined the Seattle Mountaineers Photography Club, where she met a great group of mentors and friends.
“There is a connection between people when you travel. You get to know and photograph them in their environment,” said Yampol. “I feel so fortunate to have been able to find something I love to do, along with being a teacher, and have so much fun doing it.”
The Mountlake Terrace Arts Advisory Commission oversees the library exhibits as part of its mission to promote cultural events in the community.
I love the Art Exhibits at the library!
