Fusion Dance performance to benefit Clothes for Kids

Clothes for Kids is a non-profit organization providing wardrobes for low-income families and they are experiencing a dramatic increase in demand from the South Snohomish County community.

Last school year Clothes for Kids served 5,200 children and in the first week of the school year alone have served 500 children-a record number for one week. Clothes for kids has been very fortunate in receiving some very generous clothing donations but they are currently struggling to cover the costs of running the store fron facility.

There are several ways you can contribute to Clothes for Kids. You can make a financial donation online at clothesforkids.org, you can help volunteer at the facility and you can attend the upcoming benefit dance performance on October 9.

Through the use of their gift of dancing, Fusion Dance Company has set out on a quest to help support Clothes For Kids by hosting a benefit show on October 9th. In an effort to collect funds and clothing, the benefit show will encompass a variety of talents from ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, ballroom, and belly dance to African dance, jump-roping and vocals.

Featured performers thus include:

  • Fusion Dance Company
  • Kontagious
  • Next Edition
  • Eloh Sons of Thunder
  • Ocheami Culture Club
  • Ballroom Dance Odyssey
  • FDC Hip Hop Company
  • Shannon Leigh Bruno

The event will be at 7:30 pm on Saturday, October 9, at the Mountlake Terrace High School Performing Arts Center. Tickets cost $12 each and are available in Lynnwood at both FUSION Dance Center, located at 6121 176th St. SW, and Clothes for Kids, located at 16725 52nd Ave. W. For more information, or to learn more about how you can participate in this benefit, contact Emily Baquet at (425) 787-3355 or e_baq@hotmail.com.
