A community meeting to discuss health care disparities is scheduled for Friday, June 12, 2009 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in The Commons at Cedar Valley Community School, 19200 56th Avenue West in Lynnwood.
Funded by Snohomish County Community Mobilization, the event is free and open to the public. A screening of a PBS documentary, Unnatural Causes: Place Matters covers the socio-economic and racial disparities in health. A light supper will be provided, along with door prizes and free childcare.
There will be a facilitated discussion on how segregation, lack of access to jobs, nutritious foods, and safe affordable housing can be harmful to your health.
