From LynnwoodToday.com:
There’s a desperate need for foster parents in Snohomish County.
“Dozens of Snohomish County children need a loving, caring, safe and stable home tonight. However, there is a shortage of Snohomish County foster homes every day,” said Natalia Pierson, a foster home licensor for Catholic Community Services.
Foster parents receive support from the CCS staff as well as 24-hour access to emergency assistance. They also receive a monthly stipend to assist in the care of a foster child based upon age and needs of the child. Medical, dental and daycare costs are covered through the state.
Over 10,000 Washington state children are currently living in out-of-home placements.
