Five Cedar Park Christian-MLT students to compete in WIAA championships


CPC-MLT logoFive student athletes from Cedar Park Christian School – Mountlake Terrace have qualified for WIAA state championship competition scheduled for this week.

Heading to the WIAA 1B, 2B State Golf Championships at Oakbrook Golf Course in Lakewood (Pierce County) will be Lions Ben Reidy, Aaron Gillis, Hannah Campbell and Lauren Gillis. Reidy finished second and Aaron Gillis sixth at the recent 1B/2B district tournament in Port Angeles to qualify for the boys state competition, while Campbell and Lauren Gillis placed 10th and 11th respectively at districts to earn their way to the girls state tourney. Connie Korenovsky qualified as an alternate for the girls state championship.

The WIAA 1B, 2B State Golf Championships are slated to take place Wednesday and Thursday, May 28-29.

CPCS-MLT’s Brenden Mills will be competing in the discus at the WIAA 1B, 2B, 1A Track & Field Championships May 30-31 at Eastern Washington University in Cheney. The boys 1B discus finals are slated to take place on Friday, May 30 at 10 a.m.
