Snohomish County Fire District 1 is seeking citizens to serve on the pro and con committees to prepare statements for the voter’s pamphlet on a general election ballot measure to re-authorize the district’s fire levy to the level of $1.50 per $1,000 assessed value last approved by voters in 2008.
That levy would cost the owner of a $400,000 home $600 per year.
Citizens interested in serving on either committee must submit a letter of interest to District Secretary April Richardson at Snohomish County Fire District 1, 12425 Meridian Ave. S., Everett WA 98208, or arichardson@firedistrict1.org no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, July 29. An online application is also available at www.firedistrict1.org/ProConApplication and must be submitted by same deadline.
Statements in support or opposition of the proposition to re-authorize the levy rate must be submitted to the Snohomish County Auditor’s Office no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 16. Rebuttal statements in response to opposing committee statements are due to the Snohomish County Auditor’s Office no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19.
