Fire District 1Investigators from Snohomish County Fire District 1 have determined the cause of an Oct. 10 house fire in the 22800 block of 41st Place West in Mountlake Terrace, and are hosting a neighborhood meeting Wednesday to discuss the incident and offer fire safety tips.

The neighborhood meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. at Mountlake Terrace Fire Station 19, 5902-232nd St. S.W. The meeting is open to anyone interested; RSVP would be appreciated at 425-551-1243 or lhynes@firedistrict1.org, but is not required, said the district’s Public Information Officer Leslie Hynes.

The house fire caused more than $260,000 damage to the split-level structure and started when a failed or damaged propane supply hose to a barbecue allowed fuel to ignite; the flames spread to combustible siding on the rear of the house. No one was injured in the blaze; two adults and two small children escapes from the burning house.
