Fire District 1 fire calls, March 31-April 13

Fire-District-1-logoSnohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 941 calls March 31-April 13: 740 emergency medical aid calls, 92 motor vehicle collisions, 45 fires, 26 service calls, five natural gas leaks, two hazardous materials responses and 31 automatic fire alarms.

March 31
COLLISION: At 1:57 a.m., a two-car collision was reported at Filbert Road and North Road north of Bothell. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.

April 2
COLLISION: At 11:52 a.m., a vehicle crashed into a building in the 13600 block of Mukilteo Speedway north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.

April 4
GARAGE FIRE: At 12:53 p.m., firefighters extinguished a fire in a large metal detached garage east of Lynnwood. No one was injured. Damage is estimated at $200,000. Investigators believe a malfunction of batteries or a battery charger may have started the fire.

CAR-PEDESTRIAN COLLISION: At 5:38 p.m., a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that left the scene in the 22800 block of Highway 99 in Edmonds. Firefighters transported the pedestrian to Harborview Medical Center.

April 5
EQUIPMENT FIRE: At 8:34 a.m., firefighters extinguished a fire in a sawdust collector at a woodworking business in the 2300 block of 112th Street SW south of Everett. Damage was minimal. No one was injured.

COLLISION: At 12:35 p.m., firefighters responded to a two-car collision in the 13900 block of Cascadian Way south of Everett and transported one patient to an area hospital.

COLLISION: At 6:17 p.m., a four-car collision was reported on northbound I-5 north of 164th Street SW. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.

April 7
CAR-BIKE COLLISION: At 8:51 a.m., a car and a bicycle collided in the 21700 block of Highway 99 in Edmonds. Firefighters transported the injured bicyclist to an area hospital.

COLLISION: At 10:40 a.m., a two-car collision was reported on southbound I-405 south of I-5. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.

ROOF FIRE: At 11:16 a.m., firefighters responded to a small roof fire at the Mazatlan Restaurant in the 6000 block of 244th Street SW in Mountlake Terrace. The fire was started by roofers using a torch to make repairs. The roofers extinguished the fire. No one was hurt.

COLLISION: At 12:34 p.m., a car crashed into a tree near 238th Street SW and 100th Avenue W in Edmonds. The driver fled, but was located nearby and was transported by firefighters to a hospital for evaluation.

COLLISION: At 11:27 p.m., a two-car collision occurred on northbound I-5 near 128th Street SW. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.

April 9
COLLISION: At 4:33 p.m., a three-car collision was reported on northbound I‑5 south of I-405. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.

CAR-PEDESTRIAN COLLISION: At 10:16 p.m., a car struck a pedestrian in the 7800 block of 196th Street SW in Edmonds. Firefighters transported the injured pedestrian to an area hospital.

April 10
CAR FIRE: At 1:00 a.m., firefighters extinguished a car fire in the 13000 block of 8th Avenue W south of Everett. No one was injured.

April 11
FENCE FIRE: At 12:49 a.m., a recliner placed next to a fence was set on fire in the 4400 block of 138th Place SW north of Lynnwood. The fire quickly extended to the fence. Firefighters extinguished the fire. No one was injured.

April 12
FIRE: At 8:01 p.m., firefighters responded to a motor home fire at a home in the 1500 block of 213th Place SW east of Brier. Flames spread to two boats and a shed. Firefighters were able to stop the fire before it reached a house about 10 feet from the motor home. Damage is estimated at $140,000. Investigators determine this was an accidental fire most likely caused by an electrical space heater or a candle in the motor home.

April 13
COLLISION: At 1:01 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at Poplar Way and Larch Way north of Brier. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.

CAR-PEDSTRIAN COLLISION: At 1:29 p.m., a car struck a pedestrian at 56th Avenue W and 220th Street SW in Mountlake Terrace. Firefighters transported the injured pedestrian to an area hospital.

COLLISION: At 5:32 p.m., a two-car collision occurred at 112th Street SW and Beverly Park Road south of Everett. Firefighters transported three patients to the hospital.
