Fire District 1 fire calls: Jan. 7-20

Fire-District-1-logoSnohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 987 calls January 7-20:  794 emergency medical aid calls, 77 motor vehicle collisions, 49 fires, 20 service calls, 12 gas leaks and 35 automatic fire alarms.

Jan. 8

DUMPSTER FIRE:  At 4:06 p.m., firefighters responded to a dumpster fire in the 700 block of Center Road south of Everett.

FIRE:  At 11:08 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire at a homeless camp at Avondale Way and Center Road south of Everett. One woman was injured and was transported by firefighters to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. The woman told firefighters she had been using the propane heater under a tarp. A fire investigator determined the fire was related to the heater malfunctioning after either falling over or tipping on its side while in operation.

Jan. 9

COLLISION:  At 1:25 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 35th Avenue Southeast and 132nd Street Southeast north of Mill Creek. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.

FIRE:  At 6:15 p.m., firefighters extinguished a fire in a small outbuilding in the woods in the 100 block of 130th Street Southeast, east of Everett. It was near an abandoned house and transients had been seen in the area. No one was injured.

CHIMNEY FIRE:  At 6:18 p.m., firefighters responded to a chimney fire in the 15300 block of 50th Place West in Edmonds. Residents exited the house safely. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and cleared the smoke from the house. No one was injured.

Jan. 10

COLLISION:  At 10:04 a.m., a two-car collision occurred on southbound I-5 north of I-405. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.

COLLISION:  At 7:04 p.m., a rollover collision was reported on southbound I-5 in the Lynnwood area. The passenger had to be freed from the wreckage by firefighters and was transported to an area hospital.

Jan. 12

COLLISION:  At 6:13 a.m., a car went into a ditch on northbound I-5 near the I-405 on-ramp. One person was injured and transported by firefighters to an area hospital.

COLLISION:  At 4:00 p.m., a three-car collision was reported at 128th Street Southwest and 4th Avenue West, south of Everett. One person was injured and was transported by firefighters to an area hospital.

COLLISION:  At 4:34 p.m., a two-car collision was reported in the 200 block of 120th Street Southwest, south of Everett. One person was injured and was transported by firefighters to an area hospital.

Jan. 14

COLLISION:  At 9:40 a.m., a two-car collision occurred at 164th Street Southwest and 13th Avenue West, north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported two patients to an area hospital.

Jan. 15

COLLISION:  At 11:34 a.m., a pedestrian was struck by a car at 238th Street Southwest and Highway 99 in Edmonds. Firefighters transported the injured pedestrian to an area hospital.

Jan. 16

COLLISION:  At 5:28 p.m., firefighters responded to a three-car collision in the 7600 block of 212th Street Southwest in Edmonds. One person was injured and transported to an area hospital.

COLLISION:  At 5:42 p.m., firefighters responded to a two-car collision on northbound I-5 in the Lynnwood area.  One person was injured and transported to an area hospital.

Jan. 17

HOUSE FIRE:  At 6:58 p.m., firefighters responded to a house fire in the 13600 block of Beverly Park Road north of Lynnwood. Two men were inside the house at the time of the fire and got out safely. Two dogs also escaped. Firefighters rescued a cat. The fire started on the stove top, where the resident had been heating a pan of bacon fat. Flames extended into the attic and were through the roof when firefighters arrived. Damage is estimated at more than $100,000. No one was injured.

Jan. 18

COLLISION:  At 5:44 a.m., a car left the road and drove into bushes in the 600 block of 128th Street Southeast, south of Everett. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.
