Fire-District-1-logoSnohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 856 calls Jan. 21-Feb. 3: 696 emergency medical aid calls, 61 motor vehicle collisions, 29 fires, 23 service calls, 6 natural gas leaks, 1 technical rescue and 40 automatic fire alarms.

Jan. 21
COLLISION: At 9:29 a.m., firefighters responded to a two-car collision at Center Road and 4th Avenue W south of Everett and transported one patient to an area hospital.

Jan. 23
COLLISION: At 9:47 a.m., a rollover collision was reported on southbound SR-525 south of 164th Street SW north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.

COLLISION: At 9:47 p.m., a car struck a pedestrian at 128th Street SW and 8th Avenue W south of Everett. The pedestrian received serious injuries and was transported by firefighters to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

Jan. 25
COLLISION: At 5:19 a.m., a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle in the 7600 block of 194th Street SW in Edmonds. Firefighters transported the injured bicyclist to an area hospital.

GARAGE FIRE: At 7:40 a.m., firefighters responded to a garage fire in the 4200 block of Serene Way north of Lynnwood. The garage was engulfed in flames when they arrived. Firefighters extinguished the fire before it could spread to nearby buildings. No one was injured. Damage is estimated at $85,000. The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office determined the fire started when the homeowner spilled gasoline near a space heater and an open flame in the heater ignited the gas.

RESCUE: At 11:52 a.m., firefighters rescued a construction worker in a ditch in the 18000 block of Andover Street in Edmonds after a rock weighing several thousand pounds fell on his leg. Firefighters lifted the rock off the man’s leg and transported him to an area hospital. His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Jan. 27
COLLISION: At 6:12 p.m., a pedestrian was hit by a car at Brier Road and 227th St. SW in Brier. Firefighters transported the injured pedestrian to an area hospital.

COLLISION: At 7:21 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital after responding to a car that crashed into a power pole at 52nd Ave W and 160th St. SW north of Lynnwood.

Jan. 28
COLLISION: At 8:13 a.m., a vehicle struck a pedestrian at 236th Street SW and 58th Avenue W in Mountlake Terrace. The seriously injured pedestrian was transported by firefighters to an area hospital.

COLLISION: At 5:40 p.m., a two-car collision occurred at 164th Street SW and Larch Way north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.

Jan. 29
KITCHEN FIRE: At 8:34 p.m., firefighters responded to a kitchen fire in the 1000 block of 122nd Street SW south of Everett. The sprinkler system extinguished the fire. The residents got out safely and no one was injured.

Jan. 30
COLLISION: At 3:03 a.m., firefighters responded to a three-car collision on northbound I-5 at exit 181A in Mountlake Terrace and transported one patient to an area hospital.

Feb. 1
COLLISION: At 7:57 a.m., a car went off the road and through a fence in the 21100 block of Popular Way in Brier. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION: At 11:21 a.m., firefighters responded to a collision at 164th Street SW and Meadow Road east of Lynnwood and transported one patient to an area hospital.

Feb. 2
TRAILER FIRE: At 6:11 p.m., firefighters extinguished a travel trailer fire in the 12600 block of 8th Avenue W south of Everett. No one was injured.

ATTIC FIRE: At 8:08 p.m., firefighters responded to an attic fire at a home in the 23000 block of 84th Avenue W in Edmonds. The seven people were inside the home at the time of the fire and safely escaped. The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical. Damage is estimated at $25,000.

Feb. 3
COLLISION: At 6:04 a.m., a vehicle struck a pedestrian at 8th Avenue W and 128th Street SW south of Everett. Firefighters transported the pedestrian to Harborview Medical Center.
