Fire District 1 fire calls, Dec. 30-Jan. 9

firedistrict1_logoSnohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 772 calls the weeks of Dec. 27 to Jan. 9: 617 emergency medical aid calls, 57 motor vehicle collisions, 34 fires, 18 service calls, 6 natural gas leaks and 39 automatic fire alarms.

Dec. 30
DUMPSTER FIRE: At 11:51 p.m., firefighters extinguished a Dumpster fire in the 14500 block of Admiralty Way north of Lynnwood.

Dec. 31
FIRE: At 9:27 a.m., an attic fire was reported at a home in the 11000 block of 4th Avenue West south of Everett. The residents used a garden hose to douse the flames and firefighters extinguished smoldering embers. Investigators determined the cause of the fire was electrical. Damage was minimal.

Jan. 1
APARTMENT FIRE: At 2:51 a.m., firefighters responded to a fire that caused more than $200,000 damage and displaced 14 residents from a four-unit building at an apartment complex in the 11220 block of 9th Place West south of Everett. Firefighters at the scene evaluated a woman and a teenage boy for smoke inhalation. The boy was transported by aid unit to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. His condition was not life threatening. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
COLLISION:  At 7:28 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at the intersection of 216th Street Southwest and Highway 99 in Edmonds. Firefighters transported three patients with minor injuries to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Jan. 2

ARSON CAR FIRE:  At 8:26 a.m., fire investigators responded to a car fire in the 2000 block of 196th Street Southwest east of Lynnwood. Damage is estimated at $1,000. The fire is being investigated as arson.
COLLISION:  At 4:03 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital after responding to a two-car collision on southbound I-5 north of 196th Street Southwedset.

Jan. 5
COLLISION:  At 2:31 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital after responding to a collision at 212th Street Southwest and 44th Avenue West in Mountlake Terrace.

Jan. 6

COLLISION:  At 12:44 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 220th Street Southwest and 52nd Avenue West in Mountlake Terrace.  Firefighters transported one patient with minor injuries Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
COLLISION:  At 1:33 p.m., a car went off the road at a high rate speed and came to rest upside down in a field at 228th Street Southwest and Locust Way east of Brier. Firefighters used power rescue tools to cut through the wreckage and free the trapped driver. The driver was transported by paramedics to Harborview Medical Center.
COLLISION:  At 4:56 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 3rd Avenue North and Main Street in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient with minor injuries to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Jan. 8

COLLISION: At 6:24 p.m., a collision was reported in the 3600 block of 164th Street Southwest north of Lynnwood.  Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Jan. 9

COLLISION: At 11:53 a.m., a two-car, head-on collision was reported at 184th Street Southwest and 80th Avenue West in Edmonds. Firefighters transported two patients with minor injuries to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
COLLISION:  At 2:42 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at Admiralty Way and Center Road south of Everett. Firefighters transported two patients with minor injuries to Swedish/Mill Creek Emergency Room.
COLLISION:  At 2:53 p.m., a truck struck a pedestrian in the 14800 block of Highway 99 north of Lynnwood. The injured pedestrian was transported by firefighters to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
COLLISION:  At 3:32 p.m., firefighters transported two patients to Swedish/Mill Creek Emergency Room after responding to a two-car collision at Airport Road and Center Way south of Everett.
COLLISION:  At 4:18 p.m., a two-car collision was reported in the 2300 block of 100th Avenue West in Edmonds.  Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
