Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 309 calls the week of July 14-20: 241 emergency medical aid calls, 27 fires, six service calls, 18 motor vehicle collisions, 15 automatic fire alarms, one carbon monoxide alarm and one natural gas leak.
July 14
COLLISION. At 11:55 a.m., firefighters responded to a two-car collision on northbound I-5 south of 220th St. SW. Two patients were taken by ambulance to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
COLLISION. At 2:12 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital after responding to a two-car collision in the 21900 block of Highway 99 in Mountlake Terrace.
July 20
FIRE. At 5:59 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire in a fourplex in the 4300 block of 156th St. SW north of Lynnwood. Black smoke was coming from a second-floor window when they arrived. They quickly extinguished the fire and damage was contained to the dishwasher, where the fire started, and adjacent cabinets. Damage is estimated at $13,000. No one was injured.
