Fire District 1 Calls July 10-14

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 399 calls the week of July 8-14: 298 emergency medical aid calls, 20 motor vehicle collisions, 33 fires, 20 service calls, 22 automatic fire alarms, three natural gas leaks, one water rescue and two carbon monoxide alarms. Calls in Mountlake Terrace are in bold.

July 8
DUMPSTER FIRE. At 4:21 p.m., firefighters responded to a Dumpster fire at a building in the 400 block of 164th St. SW west of Mill Creek.

July 10
WINDOW FALL. At 9:28 a.m., a toddler fell out of a second-story window onto a cement patio at a home in 800 block of 149th St. SW west of Mill Creek. The 22-month-old boy sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported by medics to Harborview Medical Center.

HOUSE FIRE. At 9:36 a.m., firefighters responded to a house fire in the 18600 block of Larch Way east of Lynnwood. No one was home and there were no injuries. The fire caused about $175,000 damage.

MOTORCYCLE COLLISION. A motorcyclist crashed at 228th St. SW and 35th Ave. W in Brier at 9:37 a.m. One patient was transported by ambulance to Stevens Hospital.

COLLISION. At 6:38 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Stevens Hospital after responding to a collision at 164th St. SE and 3rd Ave. SE west of Mill Creek.

CARS CRASH INTO HOUSE. Two cars crashed into the front deck of a house in the 4500 block of 137th St. SE east of Everett at 11:37 p.m. One car sheared off the staircase and came to rest in the yard. The other car was wedged under the deck, and the driver and a medium-sized dog were trapped in the wreckage. As crews attempted to free them, the scared dog bit one firefighter. Firefighters were able to get a collar on the dog and restrain it so they could continue their rescue efforts. The driver was transported by medics to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

July 11
FIRE. At 11:03 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire that heavily damaged a garage and a mobile home at a mobile home park in the 13300 block of Highway 99 north of Lynnwood. No one was injured. The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s office determined the cause of the accidental fire was electrical.

July 13
COLLISION. Firefighters took one patient to Stevens Hospital after responding to a three-car collision at Filbert Road and Filbert Drive east of Lynnwood at 8:02 a.m.

CAR FIRE. Firefighters responded to a car fire at a car wash in the 21400 block of Highway 99 in Edmonds at 1:54 p.m.

COLLISION. Firefighters transported one patient to Stevens Hospital after responding to a collision at 2:31 p.m. at 181st Pl. SW and Butternut Road east of Lynnwood.

PEDESTRIAN HIT BY CAR. A pedestrian was hit by a car in the 23800 block of 54th Ave. W in Mountlake Terrace at 9:50 p.m. The driver fled. The pedestrian was unconscious when firefighters arrived. He was transported by medics to Harborview Medical Center.

July 14
COLLISION. Firefighters transported two patients to Stevens Hospital after responding to a collision at 12:52 p.m. at 4th Ave. W and Center Road south of Everett.

COLLISION. Firefighters transported two patients to Stevens Hospital after responding to a two-car collision at 12:57 p.m. at 226th St. SW and 44th Ave. W in Mountlake Terrace.

BRUSH FIRE. Firefighters responded to a brush fire at 3:02 p.m. at a home in the 22900 block of 102nd Pl. W in Edmonds.

BICYCLIST HIT BY CAR. A 6-year-old boy on a bicycle was hit by a car at 4:20 p.m. at 152nd St. SW and 28th Ave. W north of Lynnwood. Medics transported the boy to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

NEAR-DROWNING. Medics rushed a 4-year-old boy to Stevens Hospital after he nearly drowned in a swimming pool at an apartment complex in the 4400 block of 212th St. SW in Mountlake Terrace at 6:33 p.m.
